One Monday of every month Buffalo, Cardiff‘s coolest bar is host to an impressive vintage event, Buffalo Boutique. Think less of dusty shops and overpriced tat but more of exquisite pieces, cupcakes and a catwalk show, organised by Urban Outfitters.
The event is jointly organised by a 20-year-old Cardiff University student, Pip, who has been delighted to be involved in the event since March 2012.
She said: “We chose Monday for the event as it is a nice end to the weekend. We have a mix of established vintage sellers and personal collections from independent sellers, which brings a nice mix.”
There is a huge selection of clothes and accessories for sale, despite the intimate venue and with many stalls offering £5 rails, there are plenty of genuine bargains to be found.
Shoppers can also take advantage of cute homemade cupcakes and sweet treats as well as 2-4-1 cocktails made by Buffalo’s finest mixologists.
Some of the brands involved in the Boutique event include Rose Tinted Vintage and Broken Girls Vintage Club but more and more independent sellers are hiring stalls and offering outfits from their personal wardrobes.
Pip said, at the most recent event on Monday: ” We are trying to get more brands involved, like Urban Outfitters. It’s cool because its beneficial for them and us.There is always a good turn out at our events but this is the biggest we have had.”
So if you are struggling for wardrobe inspiration, need a statement piece which is guaranteed not to be seen on anyone else or just want to come for a chat and a drink, where there is a chilled Vibe, Buffalo Boutique is the place for you.
